The roots of Pack Network trace to 1999 when K.J. Cardinal, then a Northeastern University co-op student, started working with Adam Polgreen in the NU Sports Information offfice. Eight years later, specializing in graphic design, web services and a state-of-the-art streaming video solution, Cardinal and Polgreen officially started Pack Network LLC on June 1, 2007.
The goal always has been simple: build strong relationships by providing great service at great prices. That basic formula — combined with significant experience in various areas of athletics, higher education and technology — has led to a growing list of partners and provided Pack Network a unique niche. The company has spent its first two years forging alliances with universities, conferences and small businesses, first throughout New England and now beyond.
Pack Network strives to provide high-quality, cost-effective solutions for each of its services. The Pack “Network” refers not only to our rapidly expanding webcast service, but also to the company's strong association with hundreds of professionals who have experience working in athletics, marketing and the media. In this group of individuals — many of them working as freelancers or offering their services part-time — Pack Network has access to a wide breadth of knowledge and expertise at significantly lower costs than other print and web firms.
Before co-founding Pack Network, Cardinal spent four years at the America East Conference, serving as Assistant Commissioner for Communications. Polgreen worked alongside legendary Sports Information Director Jack Grinold at Northeastern for seven years, ascending to the position of Assistant Athletic Director. Then in 2003 he moved across campus to serve as Associate Director of University Web Services, taking on the role of Northeastern's lead web developer.
